Vaccinations
Motorcycle adventures in foreign countries put an additional stress to the body of a motor biker; the climatic conditions are uncommon and sometimes extreme, the food and beverages are strange.

You can avoid or reduce many of the risks to your health if you thoroughly plan your trip and take a few precautionary steps at the destination. On principle: The more remote the destination and the more individual your trip is the more intensive you will have to make provisions for your personal health.

Vaccinations according to the trip are an important step in your planning. They belong to the most important and effective preventive measures and ensure your safety of dangerous diseases. From some of them your health could suffer for the rest of your life. The basic vaccinations are updated with booster vaccination. With that a sufficient protections should be guaranteed.

Besides the vaccinations and prophylactic medicines every motorcycle rider should also inform oneself about common diseases, their form of spreading and preventive measures in the country he plans to travel to.

You should talk to a competent doctor or contact an institute for tropical diseases and talk to them about your personal health protection and your tolerability to all necessary vaccinations. They will definitely offer you some advice about necessary vaccinations and risky areas of a possible malaria infection – for sure!

And on your adventure you should not forget to take along your multi-language emergency pass or an international vaccination pass. It should have entries about your own blood type and possible life-sustaining medicines (e.g. for diabetics). This will be of great help to the medical personal in the case of an emergency.

An additional tip: Have documents made which tell about your name and address, about a phone number of a person which should be informed, about the kind of illness you have got and which ones are the appropriate medicines. Just take this document and have it stamped by your doctor. It is even better if you have this document translated into the language of your destination or at least into English – an international language.

Competent advice – right where you are:
The experts at the institutes of tropical diseases are up to date about all kinds of spread diseases. They’ll competently inform you and most of the time you can get the appropriate vaccination right there.
