Anyone thinking of Norway will surely be reminded of its breath taking fiords. The coast in the west is 2700 km long. Fjord next to fjord can be found along this shore line. They all seem to compete for a beauty price: Who has the most beautiful mountains? Who the darkest woods? Who’s longest? Who’s the deepest?

But Norwegian’s "middle" also has its charm. Just "behind" the fjords Europe’s largest highland is located, the Hardangervidda. The many little red wood houses, which have been built right and left off the road in the meadows and mountains, just look so cute.

The midnight sun attracts many tourists. They travel far into high north to the North Cape.

But also the south has its charms including the Scharen coast and the unique rod churches in the region Telemark.

Due to the so called ‘everyone’s rights’ one can move relative freely through Norway’s nature. It also means that a tent can be pitched up nearly everywhere if it is just for one night. It doesn’t mean however that one can ride the bike off-road everywhere. But please leave the resting place the way you have found it. This way the next person will still have fun in the nature.

Fish certainly stands up top of the Norwegian menu. Especially herring can be eaten in innumerable variations. Typical specialties are also Ptarmigan (venison roast with cream sauce and cranberries) and Lutefisk.
In Norway alcohol is very expensive.
