Anyone who likes to go on a motorcycle health resort trip should consider checking out the Swabian Resort Road. Here one can combine motorcycling and wellness.
The road connects the foothills of the Alps from Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemberg. Like a necklace of pearls altogether nine health resorts are lined up. The discovery trip is 160 km long.
Upper Swabia and Lower Allgaeu’s beautiful scenery, numerous sights, baroque monuments, excursion stops and health resorts show this gem of South German culture and joy of life. A pleasurable motorcycle ride is also guaranteed. The healthy elements of the Swabian Resort Road restore strength and energy. Places like the nature moor, nice and warm thermal water and Kneipp’s holistic health therapies are a relief for body, mind and soul beyond the motorcycle tracks.
Start of the motorcycle trip with its health factor is Ueberlingen near Lake Constance. The city hosts the only Kneipp health spa in Baden-Wurttemberg. That means: Anyone who likes to give one’s body a rest even before the trip, has a great choice to do so in the city near Lake Constance. Anyone who wants to start motorcycling right off should get on the bike and start out for Bad Salgau.
In this town the application of water as a healing power started already 200 years ago. To put it more precise, it was the nuns which discovered a spring with sulfuric water and invited guests to take a cure here. The town Bad Salgau is also located at the Upper Swabian Baroque Road and welcomes guests with its relaxing and soothing spring water today like in the past. Anyone who takes a break here will discover just that. For the others which rather like to enjoy further motorcycling, they should continue in a northern direction via Bad Buchau to Bad Schussenried, about 14 km away. Located right in the center of Upper Swabia between lakes, moor landscapes, forests and hills is the former monastery town with its numerous sights. Here one can take a great and relaxing stop within intact nature. For anyone who thinks it is still too early to take a break in this town, one can ride on via Bad Waldsee to Bad Wurzach.
Bad Wurzach is the only moor spa in Allgaeu with an own thermal spring. Anyone stopping in here gets a perfect pack. The combination of the classic moor cure with modern wellness services makes the town very attractive for guests. Additionally Wurzach Ried offers an extraordinary nature spectacle: the largest moor area which is still intact in central Europe. Anyone who prefers cold water to the moor should consider traveling on to Bad Groenenbach, about 44 km away. The town is proud to have influenced the “water doctor” Sebastian Kneipp. His successful ideas of a holistic nature therapy can be discovered in many ways in Bad Groenenbach. One can certainly also try it out before continuing one’s travel to Bad Woerishofen, the last town along the Resort Road. After a good 55 km the motorcyclist reaches the town. It is embedded in a beautiful nature and a Kneipp spa.
Bad Woerishofen, an idyll within Allgaeu, offers its guests a Kneipp spa and its unique original Kneipp therapy and a number of wellness offers. Anyone who has not tried the power of the healing water so far should try it at least at the end of the tour in this attractive Allgaeu town.
